ACCS

The structure of ACCS training is complex and often causes confusion for anaesthetic Educational Supervisors! The following will hopefully simplify the main areas of interest.

 

The ACCS website - https://www.accs.ac.uk/ - is an excellent repository of all the information you need.

Key concepts to get your head around



Role of the Educational Supervisor

  • Make early contact with the resident

  • Aim to have regular contact with them, so as to keep and overview of their progress

  • Liaise with their Clinical Supervisor as needed

  • Complete their End-of-Year Report on the relevant eportfolio (see below)



Role of the Clinical Supervisor

  • Review progression against Learning Objectives (LO) with trainee

  • Meet regularly to review progress

  • Initiate multi-source feedback (see below)

  • Complete End-of-Placement Report - including LO entrustment levels - on the relevant eportfolio (see below)
