ACCS

​The structure of ACCS training is complex and often causes confusion for anaesthetic Educational Supervisors! The following will hopefully simplify the main areas of interest.

Key concepts to get your head around



Role of the Educational Supervisor

  • Make early contact with the resident

  • Aim to have regular contact with them, so as to keep and overview of their progress

  • Liaise with their Clinical Supervisor as needed

  • Complete their End-of-Year Report on the relevant eportfolio (see below)



Role of the Clinical Supervisor

  • Review progression against Learning Objectives (LO) with trainee

  • Meet regularly to review progress

  • Initiate multi-source feedback (see below)

  • Complete End-of-Placement Report - including LO entrustment levels - on the relevant eportfolio (see below)
